Had my last day of training at Diamond Muay Thai o

Had my last day of training at Diamond Muay Thai on Pha Ngan island today. Leaving was bittersweet because I made a lot of friends on the island and was learning a lot from some very skilled trainers and training partners, but on the other hand I leave with a sense of accomplishment for having taken on the challenge of training Muay Thai here, which was exciting but also a bit daunting.
I was so excited before my first session at Sangmorakot in Bangkok that I couldn't even sleep. I also hoped to be able to keep up with the intensity and the skill level, especially right after covid. But I did and gained a lot of confidence in my skill level. Today I even treated myself to a one-on-one session with legend Santos Davy, who taught me a lot of old school techniques.
Grateful for the experience, happy that my body endured daily sessions in the Thai heat right after covid, and already looking into coming back early next year for at least a month.

Thanks to everyone I met and trained with for an awesome experience! 🙏🏼

Now off the mountains of northern Thailand tomorrow!

I said goodbye to Bangkok this morning and am now in Koh Pha Ngan. Still got some memories from Bangkok to share with you tho so bear with me here.

I took this picture after my last session at Sangmorakot Bangkok. The gym just so happens to be located within the walls of Wat Sitaram, a Buddhist temple.
Every morning, my alarm went off at six in the morning. I walked the two kms from my Airbnb to the gym and passed the main building seen here on the way to the gym. I actually always enjoyed the walk there and back. The gym is located next to a few buildings that are also part of the temple. Monks walked by all the time and orange robes hung by the punching bags. It was a very unique experience training in such an environment!
